GENERAL SUMMARY: The goal of the Barona Tribal Enforcement Unit is to provide a safe and secure quality of life to the members of the Barona Band of Mission Indians and their guests. We provide patrol services to all Tribal Lands except for the Casino, Golf Course, and Casino Parking Lots. BTE utilizes a combination of vehicle patrol and other means of patrol in order to make ourselves highly visible on the reservation. GENERAL SUMMARY: Under supervision, responds to fire alarms, medical emergencies, hazardous condition situations, public incidents, and other types of emergencies. Protects life and property endangered by fire and other emergencies; performs fire safety inspections, and performs related duties as required. Positions in this class are primarily responsible for the operations of a fire hose and related equipment when engaged in fire suppression and the administration of first aid when engaged in medical calls.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Previous Experience as a dispatcher desired. 

  • Work flexible hours.

  • Ability assess situations quickly and document incidents thoroughly-Preferred knowledge of PL280 or experience with Tribal Governments.

  • Multi-task between phone and radio traffic.

  • Monitor video surveillance.

  • Strong administrative skills.

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Under the direction of the Sergeants/Department head, dispatchers are a point of contact via phone, radio, and person, providing assistance and/or direction to those needing help or information. Disseminates information between Tribal Enforcement and other agencies (Sheriff, CHP, and Fire Dept.) during a crisis.  The Barona Tribal Enforcement Unit provides patrol services to all Tribal lands except for the Casino, Golf Course, and Casino Parking Lots.

Water Technician D1

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Performs general cleaning of facilities, grounds and process area equipment including piping, basins and tanks, observes safe work methods and safety precautions related to the work.

  • Receives bulk delivery or chlorine and other products.

  • Provides assistance as needed for operation or maintenance activities. 

  • Uses common hand and power tools and drives motorized vehicles and equipment in the performance of the work. 

  • Coordinate and assist with the successful completion of preventative and corrective maintenance projects on all system throughout the potable water supply system, troubleshoots problem areas utilizing appropriate resources, inspects tests and maintains safety equipment.

  • Troubleshoots, identifies and repairs leaks within the chlorine injection system process area equipment; performs chlorines pump and injector cleanings.

  • Maintains chemical feed systems, calibrates pumps, performs repairs to system piping and related equipment, and maintains on-site chlorine generation equipment. 

  • Ensures that all areas are clean, neat, safe and free from debris not associated with the potable water supply system, including security for all potable water supply systems.

  • Operates, monitors and controls systems via SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) to include and related system equipment; coordinates shutdowns; startups and flow changes with appropriate authorities.

  • Optimizes potable water supply system’s processes to ensue regulatory compliance and water quality objectives are maintained at all times.

  • Preforms daily process controls analyses, including Chlorine. 

  • Collect Daily, Monthly quarterly and annual samples. 

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.

  • Must have a current/valid CA D1 Certification, T1 Certification preferred but not required.

  • Plumbing experience is highly desirable.

  • Familiar with Excel, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and PDF knowledge is a plus.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Barona Tribal Water Authority (BTWA) potable water supply system. Manage ongoing relationships with vendors and artists.  Work collaboratively with leadership, staff, volunteers, and community members to ensure positive visitor experience.  Organize and complete routine clerical activities, front desk reception duties, and coordination of retail operations. This position interacts with Tribal Members, Barona staff, and the general public. Schedule flexibility required.

Administrative Assistant

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Responsible for welcoming and greeting tribal members.

  • Duties include assisting with Per Capita disbursement, processing travel requests and seminar registrations.

  • Process senior and tenant utilities; update and create forms, calendars and various spreadsheets; maintain storage closet and supply kiosk.

  • Assist Tribal Members faxing, copying, printing, purchasing El Capitan keys and distribute dictionaries.

  • Reconcile all credit card charges and petty cash.  

  • Maintain several lists - gift distribution, weed abatement, Call Fire, wireless internet, address list/portal.

  • Issue Exemption Certificates and DMV forms.

  • Cross-train in several areas - gym keys, parking permits and consumer loans.

  • Assist manager and director as needed.

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and familiar with Publisher.

  • Type 45 wpm.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High School diploma or GED and one to 1-2 years of administrative experience required. 

  • Organizational, computer and interpersonal skills are a must.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Director, this position is responsible for answering and routing incoming calls along with clerical duties.  This position strongly interacts with tribal members.
