BTWA Laborer/Water Operator

DEPARTMENT:   

Water Department

LOCATION:  

BTWA Building

 

SALARY/WAGE: 

TBD

STATUS:   

Non-Exempt

HOURS:  

Full Time,

Monday-Friday

7am - 3pm.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Laborer is responsible for all trash pickup, vegetation clearing and general maintenance and cleanliness of wells and tanks.

  • Assist the Director with maintenance items as needed. 

  • Ability to perform work in an effective and timely manner with minimal direction.

  • May hire directly to Operator with D2 and/or T2 Certs/experience.

  • Strong interest in Water, and desire to advance into the field.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Required: 2 years previous work experience in any labor capacity.

 

EDUCATION LEVEL:

High School diploma or GED is required.

2 years’ of previous experience with a laborious career field.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Under direct supervision and reporting to the Tribal Water Authority Director. Strong interest in Water Operations required. General laborer is responsible for performing general labor, landscaping duties such as weed whacking, Well and Tank site maintenance, waterlines installation and repair, trash pickup, filter change outs and other maintenance duties as needed.

Retail & Visitor Services Coordinator 

DEPARTMENT:

HOURS:  

Wednesday- Saturday

30 hours

 (Occasional flexibility needed from time to time).

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3 years retail & customer service experience.

  • knowledge of museum/non profit organizations.

  • Proficiency in front desk receptionist duties retail/merchandise/inventory.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite & QuickBooks POS system.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

High School Diploma or GED required.

1-3 years of retail and customer service experience.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Under direction of the Director/Curator, this position is responsible for the operation of the public area of the Museum, the front desk and especially the Museum Store. Work closely with Director to purchase and consign inventory and merchandise the Museum Store. Manage ongoing relationships with vendors and artists.  Work collaboratively with leadership, staff, volunteers, and community members to ensure positive visitor experience.  Organize and complete routine clerical activities, front desk reception duties, and coordination of retail operations. This position interacts with Tribal Members, Barona staff, and the general public. Schedule flexibility required.

Dispatcher

DEPARTMENT:

STATUS:

HOURS:  

Full Time
Varies; however at this time, vacancy is for vacancy is for Graveyard 12:00am-8:00am.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge and strong familiarity of computer/software skills and hand held devices.

  • Prior Law Enforcement, Military, or Security experience preferred. 

  • Previous Experience as a dispatcher desired. 

  • Work flexible hours.

  • Must be at least 21 years old.

  • Ability assess situations quickly and document incidents thoroughly-Preferred knowledge of PL280 or experience with Tribal Governments.

  • Multi-task between phone and radio traffic.

  • Monitor video surveillance.

  • Strong administrative skills.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

High School Diploma or GED is required, College education is preferred.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Under the direction of the Dispatch Lead, Sergeants/Department head, dispatchers are a point of contact via phone, radio, and person, providing assistance and/or direction to those needing help or information. Disseminates information between Tribal Enforcement and other agencies (Sheriff, CHP, and Fire Dept.) during a crisis.  The Barona Tribal Enforcement Unit provides patrol services to all Tribal lands except for the Casino, Golf Course, and Casino Parking Lots.

Help Desk Technician

DEPARTMENT:

HOURS:  

Monday-Friday

40 Hours/Week

8:00am-4:00pm

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Respond to incoming calls and interact with end users to solve problems.

  • Properly diagnose specific issues relating to hardware and software.

  • General maintenance of the computer hardware and software.

  • Solving computer hardware and software related problems of the company.

  • Create troubleshooting documents.

  • Interact with the end users to address their computer/network problems.

  • Assign and manage trouble tickets for departments to effectively manage computer related issues.

 

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Actively pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field with/or 2 or more years equivalent work experience.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

A Help Desk technician’s job involves using computer applications for solving technical problems of end users and providing excellent service to them. It includes primarily answering phone calls, responding to emails, finding out specific software and hardware issues, and issuing trouble tickets to the proper department.

24 hours per week mostly during after school, some nights and weekends required.

8-hour shifts available during school vacations.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Training in all areas of recreation provided.

Graveyard 10PM-6AM & Swing shift 2PM-10PM

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two (2) years of prior Law Enforcement, Military, or Security experience.

  • Valid CA driver’s license, verified by DMV H-6 printout

  • Current CA Guard Card

  • Fluently speak, write and understand English.

  • Basic knowledge of computer and hand held devices.

  • Must be at least 21 years old

  • Ability to make sound professional decisions.

  • Ability to thoroughly document and investigate incidents.

  • To be considered for the position; DMV H-6 printout, California Guard Card, Baton Card, and OC Spray must be current and available at time of interview.

  • Familiar with Public Law 280 is a plus.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

High School Diploma or GED is required, College education is preferred.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

The goal of the Barona Tribal Enforcement Unit is to provide a safe and secure quality of life to the members of the Barona Band of Mission Indians and their guests. We provide patrol services to all Tribal Lands except for the Casino, Golf Course, and Casino Parking Lots. BTE utilizes a combination of vehicle patrol and other means of patrol in order to make ourselves highly visible on the reservation.
